You're always assured of a warm welcome by Teresa and Alan at Le Campagard
The oldest part of our building in the hamlet of Babaudus dates from the late 18th. Century. Le Campagnard was owned and managed by the same local family for more than 100 years as a hotel, bar and restaurant, and it was reputed to have been used by the local Resistance as a safe house during the Occupation of World War Two.
It remained a popular social venue up to the end of the 1990s then, after several changes of ownership, it closed.

After careers in education, commerce and administration in the UK we moved to Normandy where we managed a holiday cottage for four years. Then our love of France and the French way of life brought us to Rochechouart in 2012.
We started a renovation programme in 2013 and, reopened as a Chambres d'Hôtes with a licensed restaurant exclusively for the use of our overnight guests, and then continued our improvements, offering additional rooms for our guests in 2015 and 2019.
We offer our clients a warm welcome in a professional manner.
We are registered as independent traders with the local council and listed in the Directories of the local tourist offices in our area of the Limousin.

We have undertaken training courses in France to obtain our Food Hygiene Certificate and our permit for the sale of alcohol. We offer a licensed restaurant service exclusively to our overnight guests and we are members of the Hotel Industry Trade Association.
